Mare The Mermaid
10x26’ - Young adults
Produced by Silex Films - Delivery 2026
Breaking free from society’s expectations without making a splash is tough when you’re a mermaid princess who doesn’t quite fit the mold. And it’s even tougher when your mom, the Queen, decides to throw your family into a reality TV fishbowl!
Mare the Mermaid tells the story of Princess Pelagie, who ditches her royal life and swims off to college under a new alias: Mare. Her mission? To escape the media’s spotlight and her mom’s watchful eye. But as she quickly learns, blending in isn’t as easy as slipping on a seaweed disguise. As she navigates a sea of secrets and fish-out- of-water situations, she realizes that embracing her true self is the only path forward.

One hook-up. One secret. One shot.
From inception to end of production, the film was made in two weeks to promote a Fujinon Premista 19-45 lens. The production took place at the Tower Bridge Moorings, and most of the people featured are actual inhabitants of the pontoon. The story is inspired by the real-life occurrence of bodies occasionally washing ashore at low tide.
Commissioned by Fujifilm / Fujinon, in collaboration with Adam Suschitzky BSC.

The Energy Within
Featuring Paralympian Stefanie Reid
Having recently recovered from an accident which cost her her leg, Julie Bennett (Stefanie Reid) is set on getting her old life back. And for Julie, competitive running is life. After finding the courage to approach George Hart, a respected trainer, she asks to join his team of professional runners, lying to him and herself by hiding her disability. But how long can she keep up appearances, and at what cost? This acclaimed short film starring paralympic champion Stefanie Reid is based on her own life experience as an athlete with a disability.
‘The Energy Within’ is a multi award-winning short film, written and directed by Samuel de Ceccatty. He wrote the first draft of the film in January 2016, at a time when he was living with a wheelchair-bound relative and decided to tell a different story about disability, one that would represent the disabled experience more authentically.
Inspired by the groundbreaking technological advances in biomechanics, he decided to focus the story of a para-athlete coming to terms with her disability, and ultimately embracing the full potential of her body.
Produced by Paul Jibson and Manon Ardisson ('God's Own Country'). Cinematography by Adam Suschitzky BSC ('Fear the Walking Dead', 'YellowStone'). Supported by BP. Distribution in collaboration with the International Paralympic Commitee.
